Jo and John in Victoria
I have been so busy and just haven't bothered blogging in quite a while. So many shoots have come and gone since my last post. Bad blogger, Brian!
Anyhow, that has to stop. Especially since I have some delicious images to share!
A month ago, I took the ferry to Vancouver Island for the weekend, bringing Regina and Saphira with me. Mission: to photograph Jo and John in Victoria. We stayed at the Empress and enjoyed ourselves. The next day, which turned out to be beautiful, Jo and John joined me and my friend Nicole, who was my assistant for the shoot (Thanks, Nicole!).
We went to Beacon Hill Park, University of Victoria (where Jo and John met) and ended up at Cowichan Bay. Jo and John were a bit shy at first, but opened up a lot during the shoot. They were so much fun to photograph and obviously in love! Plus you cannot beat Victoria for photography; it absolutely has it all!
In a couple of weeks, Jo and John will be getting married at the Fairmont Pacific Rim downtown. I am really looking forward to the wedding! See you soon, J&J!

Earth Day and the David Suzuki Foundation
A few weeks ago, I shot an ad for Lia Fletcher, the Marketing manager for Kin's Farm Market for an ad campaign that will raise money for the David Suzuki Foundation. It has already been in this month's issue of Common Ground. Today the ad can be seen in most regional newspapers, 24 hours, and The Vancouver Sun. I'm very proud that my little daughter Saphira, who is still less than 3 years old, has appeared in her first ad for such a noble cause. Congratulations, honey! It was quite funny shooting this, with Lia jumping up and down and rewarding Saphi with treats. At the same time my lovely wife Regina tried to keep her calm, while also positioning off-camera lighting and a reflector. And of course, the shopping bag had to co-operate too. :-D
If you can, drop by the nearest Kin's Farm Market, pick up some great produce and a couple of reusable shopping bags. I bought 4 myself. Let's raise money for a great cause!

Chris Loves Brooke!
Brooke and Chris are getting married at the end of May. We spent an hour or so in between raindrops making these images together at dusk to celebrate their relationship and upcoming wedding. It's going to be beautiful! Congratulations, Brooke and Chris, I loved hanging out with you and see you soon!
RockStar Don
Don is a very talented musician. I have jammed with him many times over the years... he even played at our wedding (thanks again, bro'!) I'm just an amateur, but Don's the real thing and he needed a new headshot/musician portrait. We had our session in White Rock. With a lovely break in the weather, we ended up at the beach at sunset. Don, it was great to see you. Love that new travellin' man guitar, too. Have fun while you're in Costa Rica... Hasta la Vista!

Kristy and Eli
This wonderful couple are getting married and their wedding is in September. We had fun strolling through downtown New Westminster, making images along the way!
We are going to have so much fun at your wedding, K&E. I'm really looking forward to it... here are a few highlights from our e-sesh. I'm going to make a sweet guest book for you that will have some of these images in it. And some others you haven't seen yet! ;-D
See you soon, Kristy and Eli!
I like to watch.

Lynne and Guy: The Love Burned through the Freezing Rain
I first met Lynne several years ago when she was a bridesmaid at her friend's (Sonia and Mark's) wedding. Thanks for remembering me, Lynne. You are just awesome, with the biggest smile I've ever seen! I'm just thrilled to have been a part of your wedding... and glad to have gotten to know Guy, who is a wonderful person, too.
Congratulations to you both!
Lynne and Guy planned a beautiful and intimate ceremony at a private home in the upper reaches of North Vancouver. Despite a North Shore Monsoon serving up a chilly sideways rain, they had a sweet wedding. We managed to get some photography done outside before their sumptuous dinner reception at The District at 11/13 Lonsdale. Great food with a cool 'n' cozy urban hospitality... check it out!
My buddies!
